Rider court in Schleswig Holstein - holidays near the Baltic Sea

Hof Kirchhorst is set in the Hüttener Berge country park. Bridle paths and trekking trails (e.g. European walking trail no. 1) lead to a host of places of natural beauty or cultural interest.

In Groß Wittensee the miller, Mr Lemker, will be happy to show you his old windmill from top to bottom. The famous painters Lamberts and Reese will be pleased to let you look round their studios. Hof Kirchhorst itself has a listed flax drying kiln.

A most charming way to see the countryside is to drive through the sleepy villages, passing lakes, manor houses and castles along the way until you reach the North Sea.
