School trip

Dear teachers, dear children,

We believe we have something very special to offer for your next class trip.

Riding: if you would like, trained instructors will give both children and their teachers 2 riding lessons a day on our very docile ponies. Alternative activities are covered wagon rides and cross-country trips through our wonderful local scenery. Beginners are held on a lead. Boys tend to be a bit hesitant at first, but they too soon discover the joys of riding. In our experience the children enjoy their time here so much that when the week ends they are sorry to leave.

- Groups that do not wish to ride are also very welcome!

Accommodation: the children sleep in small dormitories, each with its own shower and WC. Teachers and carers stay in pleasant single or double rooms, also fitted with shower and WC; television is also provided. Children who suffer from allergies have a room of their own.

- No special clothing is required, riding hats are provided.

Food and services:  3 very good meals a day are served in our restaurant and tea is always available for the children to drink, so that no-one need go short of anything. There is a kiosk selling sweets, postcards etc. Teachers and carers meet up for a quiet coffee break each day.
Every class has its own lounge. There is also a table tennis room, a hobby room, our own disco and the riding halls can be used for games and sports activities.

Outdoors: playing field, bathing lake on site with two large rafts, basketball and volleyball courts, trees to climb, tree-house, 2 soccer fields and lake to fish in.

Trekking trails: the hill country Hüttener Berge has untold kilometres of trail, we recommend the hike to the Bismarck memorial atop Aschberg where there is a little tavern. Or take the Groß Wittensee trail to the old windmill and the gallery of two famous artists, Lamberts and Reese.

Location: Hof Kirchhorst is in an idllic spot, away from traffic, surrounded by woods and fields which create a 2.5 kilometre wide green belt. This provides the estate with its own safety zone, especially for children and young people.
